BBYO has given me so much. I’ve made countless memories, and I grew my Jewish identity to the fullest. Here are some of my best pieces of advice for new or returning members of BBYO!

1. Get Involved in Chapter and Regional Programming

It is such a gift to have a strong Jewish community in your city. I recommend joining chapter and regional programming as a way to meet other Jews in your area and create new connections that will last you a lifetime. Being a general member is so much fun and a vital part of BBYO.

2. Go on a BBYO Summer Experience

Going on a summer trip with BBYO was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I went to Central Europe and Israel, and it was beyond special. Whether you choose to travel the world, attend CLTC or ILTC, or go on Kallah, you are going to learn lessons about leadership, different cultures, and empathy for others.

3. Join the ILN

The ILN has so many options. Whether you want to steer IC, join a cohort or club, or become a Pres Corps member (which I highly recommend!), there really is something for everyone. The ILN opened me up to a new world of BBYO. You will meet others filled with so much passion for this organization, and I think you will find their dedication to be inspiring as you impact your own region or chapter.

4. Attend Regional and International Conventions

Regional and International Conventions are so much fun. Not only can you check out a new city and listen to celebrities speak, you will also meet other Jewish teens from around the world. I still talk to the friends I met at FRC, IC, and SRC today!

My best piece of advice with BBYO is to get involved. You get in what you put out, and with dedication and passion for the organization, I am certain you will have a meaningful experience. I know that I am left with memories and skills that I will take with me to college, and I know that I will definitely be forever grateful for BBYO and everything it has done for me.
