What do you think of when you hear the phrase “best friend”? Some may think of pure joy and happiness, while some may think of someone who comforts you when you are feeling down. Regardless of how you think of this phrase, there is something so special about how a best friend makes us feel. A best friend should comfort you when you’re down, they should be the ones to say “I love you” when things are tough.
For the longest time, I had little to no friends. Then in November of 2015, when I was in 8th grade, I found my people. Brandeis AZA and BBYO as a whole. This group changed my life forever. My best friends for life had been found, whether at home in Maryland, or all the way in California, Pittsburgh or even Hungary. I felt like I was a part of something for the first time in my whole life. If I hadn’t joined BBYO, I don’t think I would have had a best friend until much later in life. It is super hard for me to wrap my head around the thought of possibly not finding BBYO, but luckily I did, and I don’t need to worry about that. My friends from BBYO will remain some of my best friends throughout life. I am very grateful for all of them, and how much effort they put into making me a better and happier person, I don’t know what I’d do without them.
When I first joined BBYO the staff inspired me to be more outgoing, and meet my best friends. My summer program coordinators have helped me discover myself inspired me to be a leader and serve on chapter board, where I found even more best friends. I am so grateful for the opportunities I got to meet some of the most amazing people from around the world, my best friends.
Fraternally Submitted with Undying love for, every Aleph and B’nai B’rith Girl out in our order, the everlasting friendships that are made in BBYO, CLTC 8 2017, Perlman Summer 2018, soon ILSI 2019, The BBYO staff that helped me succeed, and my heart and home, Brandeis AZA #1519, I forever remain,
