The BBG Lounge was the place for BBGs to be at IC 2019. With everything from a raffle to incredible sessions, this experience allowed me to enjoy a new side of BBYO. The lounge had crafts, opportunities to connect with BBG alumnae and BBGs from all over the world, candy, confidence coaching, and so much more. However, the most meaningful part of this experience for me was the presence of the Female Quotient. The Female Quotient, the organization that powered the lounge, focuses on equalizing life for women and men by using three techniques—measuring accountability, collaboration, and making solutions for a change. According to the Female Quotient, when you put a woman into ANY situation, there is a return on equality.
Seeing so many BBGs gathered in this one place made me realize how strong we are as a community, and this was only a small portion of the incredible young women at IC. There were thousands of teenage girls at this convention, and every one of them can and will make a difference. The BBG Lounge gave these girls an opportunity to connect with one another, share their amazing ideas, and have some fun in the process. Overall, I can say that the BBG Lounge was a hidden treasure at IC that created eternal connections between all those who attended.
