Rocky Mountain Region’s Newest International Service Fund Incentive: The Chapter Change Competition

Starting this year off strong, Rocky Mountain Region is thrilled to introduce a new initiative for raising money for the International Service Fund (ISF) — the Chapter Change Competition. This fun and friendly competition is designed to inspire chapters to get creative and raise funds that directly benefit the global community through BBYO’s ISF.

What Is the Chapter Change Competition?

The Chapter Change Competition is a region-wide effort that encourages chapters to raise as much spare change as possible in support of the ISF. As the name suggests, this competition revolves around collecting loose change. My co-gizbor and I have been visiting chapters during regional events to encourage and help chapters collect their change. Through this initiative, we’re educating our members on the incredible impact of the ISF and fostering excitement to raise funds for a cause that makes a meaningful difference. All proceeds will go directly to ISF projects, which fund global service initiatives, helping communities in need both locally and internationally.

How It Works

Each chapter in Rocky Mountain Region is encouraged to participate in this friendly competition by collecting spare change within their chapter. Whether it’s loose coins from members' pockets, piggy banks, or small donations from chapter events, every bit of change counts toward your chapter’s total. Chapters can collect donations during regional meetings, chapter events, fundraisers, or any other programs they host. The chapter that raises the most money through this campaign will receive recognition and exciting prizes.

Prizes and Incentives

To make the competition even more exciting, there will be various incentives for chapters that go above and beyond. The highest-raising chapter will receive a special prize, which will be announced at SRC, but that’s not all. We also have fun rewards for creative fundraising efforts and exceptional dedication to the ISF. These prizes are designed to encourage a spirit of friendly competition, and they’ll give chapters the chance to showcase their energy, creativity, and commitment to supporting BBYO’s global mission.

Why Support the ISF?

The ISF is a vital part of BBYO’s mission to create positive change and foster global Jewish engagement. Every dollar raised through the Chapter Change Competition goes directly toward funding projects that benefit communities worldwide. These funds support humanitarian efforts, Jewish identity programs, and community-building initiatives that have a lasting impact. By participating in the competition, chapters not only have fun and earn prizes but also contribute to making a tangible difference in the lives of people around the globe.

Get Ready for SRC and Our End-of-Year Banquet!

We are incredibly excited about the Rocky Mountain Region’s Spring Convention (SRC)! During the event, we’ll reveal the current fundraising totals and announce the winning chapter. SRC will be filled with energy, enthusiasm, and, of course, a strong focus on supporting the ISF. We can’t wait to celebrate the generous spirit of our region and see the amazing results of this exciting initiative.

The Chapter Change Competition will culminate at our end-of-year banquet, where each chapter will be recognized for their valuable contributions. We’ll highlight the chapter that raised the most, as well as the chapter with the most creative fundraising efforts. Special prizes will be awarded for these achievements!

How Can Your Region Participate?

It’s easy! All chapters can begin collecting change now and continue collecting donations at various events leading up to a Spring Convention or end of year event/Summer Sendoff. The more active and creative your chapter is, the greater chance you have of winning! Let’s make the Chapter Change Competition a movement-wide initiative to raise as much money as possible for the ISF!

Together, we can make a lasting impact on the world while having fun and challenging ourselves to give back. Join the competition, raise funds for the ISF, and let’s show what your chapter and region are capable of!
