Four years ago, I was walking with my dad in Denmark. We randomly found a Chabad and decided to walk inside to take a look. We met the rabbit that runs it, and parts of his family too. When he asked us where we were from, we said we were from Detroit. The rabbi then asked if we knew so and so, and we were surprised, because we did know that person, and were shocked that someone who lives halfway across the globe from Detroit knew these local Detroit Jews. This exact experience triggered my obsession with the Jewish connection.

What is the Jewish connection?  Well, the Jewish connection is the idea that every Jew shares a special bond between another Jew.

Have you ever met someone who asked if you knew another person and you did because they were Jewish? Or maybe your other Jewish friend knows the person someone is asking about? Have you ever heard a Jewish sounding name, looked it up on Instagram, and saw that you had Jewish mutuals? This is the Jewish connection most people experience in their daily lives.

This connection has always been super meaningful to me. I really do enjoy the fact that everyone who is Jewish always has a connection to another Jew, whether that is through a friend, family, etc.

It shows that in times or fear, or hatred, someone will always have a connection to another person going through that same thing.
