If you’re even thinking about going to CLTC or doing a BBYO summer program, this is your sign to register. Seriously. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I’m so glad I went.
Going into it, I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew it would be fun, but I didn’t realize how much the experience would actually mean to me. I met so many new friends from all over the world—people from New Jersey, Texas, California, Florida, and even Bulgaria. It’s crazy how close we all became in just two weeks. Now, I have friends from all over the world that I still talk to all the time.
One of the coolest parts about CLTC is getting to meet people from so many different regions. It’s such a different experience than just staying in your own region. You get to learn how other chapters and regions operate, hear about unique traditions, and feel like you’re really part of the BBYO International Order. It makes BBYO feel so much bigger and more special.
The best part is, it doesn’t end when CLTC is over. You’ll get to see your friends again at International Convention or on more summer programs. It’s so cool having friends from so far away and knowing that even though you only spent a few weeks together, you’re still incredibly close. The friendships you make at CLTC are seriously like no other—you bond so fast and to such a deep level because of the experience you get to have together.
Not only did I meet so many amazing people, but I also learned a ton about leadership both within and outside of BBYO. We had the opportunity to run mock chapters, plan programs, and learn how to be more impactful leaders—but it never felt like school or anything boring. Everything we did was fun and super helpful.
Some of my favorite memories were going on trips, running our mock chapters, and all the surprise events they had planned for us. Every day was something new and exciting—we were always having fun or making memories together.
And of course, every CLTC is different—with different people, different staff, and different experiences—but no matter what, a summer program would be one of the best experiences you’ll ever have.
If you’re thinking about going to CLTC or another BBYO summer program, this is your sign to register. You’ll meet the best people, have the best experience, and have the most unforgettable time. I would go back in a second if I could. I’m so excited because I’m attending ILTC this summer with some of my best friends from CLTC and IC that I can’t wait to see again!
